The 2020 Silver Canadian Mountie Hat was a special release from the Royal Canadian Mint and honors the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In 1920, the Royal North West Mounted police were renamed the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and from there, the "Mounties" took on federal policing responsibilities. 9999 pure silver and plated with 24K gold!! Worldwide mintage for this one of kind coin is limited to just 6500 pieces! The Royal Canadian Mint is known for its innovative drive and this first ever hat-shaped coin further supports their reputation.

Most notably, this coin is the first time brown-gold plating has ever been used on a coin, which can be seen on the bronze band of the hat. Additionally, the frosted matte finish of the coin makes the gold plating appear even more similar to the material of the actual Mounty hat. The obverse features a right facing portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", D.

The reverse of the coin displays the design of a traditional "Mountie" hat that is a standard part of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police uniform. 9999 Silver Mountie Hat was struck at the Royal Canadian Mint.

It has been certified flawless MS70 by PCGS with a Gilt Ag Matte finish!! In addition the label has been hand signed by Canadian Mint Artist Susanna Blunt!
